What's Expected of Me?

As a Rotary Youth Exchange student, you will be an ambassador for yourself, your family, Australia and Rotary.

You will have to attend school full time. This is not a full time holiday.

Because of visa, tax and insurance issues, you cannot work while you are overseas.

Rotary has some basic rules which are designed to keep you safe and well for the entire year:

• No driving of motorised vehicles
• No drinking of alcohol (unless your Host District says it is ok)
• No illegal drugs
• No serious romantic relationships

You will have to attend occasional Rotary functions. How many will depend on your Host Club and Host District. In District 9710, our exchange students get together at least 4 or 5 times during the year.

You will be expected to help your host families with housework and chores.
