Turkey is a country of sun, sea, mountains and lakes. It’s a country spanning two continents, where east meets west and has a rich culture and history.
Its capital Ankara is part of the Rotary District 2430 which will be your hosting district. Ankara’s climate is hot and dry in summer, cold and snowy in winter. Turkey has some great snowfields so you can brush up on your snowboarding skills and burn off all those extra calorie after gorging yourself on Turkish Delight.
Exchange students will have a variety of touring experiences in their exchange year be it with your Rotary Club, host family or the 2 week Grand Tour with other Rotary Exchange students.
Past Rotary Exchange students have visited Gallipoli on Anzac Day, toured Istanbul and been in awe of the magnificent Blue Mosque and been totally blown away by the unique formations at Cappadocia.
If you would like to experience Turkey and actually live life as they do for twelve months, contact your local Rotary Club or District Councellor for Turkey for more details.
